Terms of Service & Acceptable Use Policy
Please read this document which details our terms of service and acceptable use policy (AUP) for our hosting and email services.
Where the term "Ixoweb", "us" or "we" is used in this document, it refers to the Ixoweb.com website design & hosting company. The term "you", "your" refers to the customer, account holder or user of our services.
You are responsible for any actions made by anyone (employees, friends, etc.) to whom you supply access details for the website or email services, you must be aware that any unacceptable behavoir by one user can potentially jeopardise the entire domain.
We reserve the right to add to and make changes to these terms of service at any time.
Website Hosting
Customers using the Ixoweb hosting services agree to abide by the following terms of use:
Ixoweb reserves the right to suspend or cancel your access to our hosting services if we believe you are in violation of our policies and/or you have made inappropriate use of our services. We also reserve the right to refuse service and/or access to anyone where we think it is necessary.
You are not permitted to use our website hosting to host any website that contain any obscene, hateful, pornographic or other illegal or adult material. Adult material includes (but is not limited to); all pornography, erotic images, violent content, or other lewd material. The definition of 'Adult Material' is at our discretion.
You must not use our services to perpetrate any kind of fraud, or software, music or film piracy. Piracy includes torrent and warez websites. Fraud includes (but is not limited to) any kind of phishing attacks, unsolicited spam emails, and anything else that attempts to decieve the user into providing their personal details.
You must not use our disk space to store any copyrighted material belonging to third-parties, unless you have obtained a license for said material from the copyright holder.
Using our systems to faciliate hacking, or attempting to gain access to unauthorised areas on our system is strictly forbidden and will result in your account being immediately terminated. Scripts that attempt to access other sites or privileged resources on the same server are not acceptable.
Attempting to introduce any form of computer virus onto our systems is a serious offence and your account will be immediately terminated.
Scripts that you run on our servers must not use excessive resources and must be designed primarily to produce web based content. Scripts that have the sole purpose of generating large amounts of email or database queries without producing any web based content are not permitted. Your scripts also may not change the timeouts and execution times set on the server. Please ask us first if you have requirements for additional resources.
You are not permitted to provide any kind of proxy services, or run any kind of IRC server, game server, torrent trackers or other resource intensive non-web based services on our servers.
Use of our unlimited bandwidth option is designed for website based content, not excessive downloadable material. If you are the copyright holder of the downloadable material, e.g. multimedia content, then this is permitted as long as you do not make excessive use of our bandwidth.
It is your responsibility to adhere to these guidelines at all times, it is also your responsibility to be able to prove that you own (or license) the copyright for any material hosted on our servers.
To prevent our IP addresses from being blacklisted, we may suspend access to any hosted domain if/when we deem it necessary.
Email Services
You must not use our email services to send any kind of unsolicited email spam, phishing attacks, or any other fraudulent or criminal activity.
You are not permitted to use our email services to distribute any form of obscene, hateful, pornographic or other illegal or adult material.
Sending emails that might be considered indecent, offensive, discriminatory, abusive, to the recipitant. Including any harassment, personal attacks, sexism or racism. You also may not send any emails that have the intention to annoy, inconvenience, or cause anxiety to any other person.
Distributing copyrighted materials through our email service (which you do not own or license the copyright for) is not permitted.
Sending excessive amounts of bulk email is unacceptable without prior permission from us.
If we identify a mailbox that is causing problems we will modify or remove the mailbox. Problems caused by violation of any of the above terms, or problems caused by; large amounts of undeliverable mail, mail loops caused by forwarders/auto-responders, forwarding set to an undeliverable address.
It is your responsibility to use our email services in a legitamate and acceptable manner.
Domain Name Registration
Domain name registration fees are payable upfront and are not refundable.
We may reject an application for a domain registration at our discretion, reasons include but are not limited to; request for a prohibited or offensive domain name.
Account Termination
If you have used any of our services in an inappropriate way and we have been forced to terminate your account, you are not usually entitled to a refund.
Subsequent reactivation of your services is reviewed on a case by case basis.
